In the fifth day, here it is, the first class for me to study in UT Chemical Engineering Program and I had an appointment with Mr. Rik as a coordinator for International students in 9.30 am, so that I had to be prepared earlier to get a morning bus. However, Meri woke up late, so that she decided to haven’t a breakfast, and I tried to make a bread for her. That’s what’s friends are for. 
I decided to bring rice with rendang and shredded for lunch in order to saving my money. As usual, we walked together to the Van Hepkein station to get the bus for 15 minutes. when we just arrived at bus station, the bus was coming. Our destination is hangelswad station because it was the nearest station from Rik’s building. We’ve arrived at Rik’s office at 8.15 am, and it’s better to come earlier than come on time or late. Rik arrived on time, and he greets me with his smile and I greets him back with my smile . He permitted us to come into his room, and he gave me a little information for that day’s class, for specific information about schedule, meet the professor, and many other things, he wanted to make an appointment with us on 12 pm and we agree with that. Before we went to the clasroom I gave him a souvenir, that is angklung souvbenir from Bandung, West Java, and it can be the garnish in table or in the other place, it depends on him and he really likes it, I was happy to see that. Then, he accompanied us to the room to get a lesson in the first day, but there was no lecturer until we’ve waited for 20 minutes. I met the other international students that had been studied for a half year in UT, their name are Yuan lei and Yuan Zhang from China. So there are only five students that join for inorganic materials course, I thought it’s very quiet class, but it’s ok.
Finally, Rik decided to call the lecturer, and actually we had to go to the laboratorium in the different buildings to get an information about the practical course. We had to go there, and We met the secretary of the professor, and she said that the practical course was full, there has been 6 groups with 12 PhD students that taught them, so that, it needed to communicate with RIk about this situation because our name didn’t in the name list of the practical course and it means that we haven’t register yet for the practical course. I was very confuse about that, because I didn’t know anything about that. She wants us to write down our name and email in order to inform us if there are an available space for us to join practical course. So that, there was no class for today, so we deciided to go to the Bastile to give the enrolment and payment documents back to the student service. However, We haven’t bank account yet, so the secretary of
student service told us to give the documents back after We got a bank account. So we went to the Horst building for waiting the appointments with Mr. Rik, and we spend our time with had a lunch and discuss about the schedule time of the class.
The time was go on, it’s time to meet Rik in the 6th floor, and he has been there. He permitted us to come in and take a seat. He gave me a lot of information about the schedule time to meet a professor and I had an appointment to meet Professor Filippi on Tuesday at 4 pm to discuss about the research project that have to be accomplished in a year, and also I will meet with Professor Wim Briels to discuss the same thing in the other time. He also told me about direction to the building that we will get a lesson there. I had to remember the schedule and also the room. He give some motivation to us and said that there are many reseacrh groups in UT, so it’s better to discus about the project that you interested ini it, if we don’t like it, it’s better for us to find another research group. And he also said “You will get a good score but not the best score if the project doesn’t accordance with your interest, so that it’s better to find the reserach group that accordance with your interest and you will get the best score in the last”. he gave me guide book for the master program in chemical engineering, there are a lot of information in there that you could get it.
Finally, we went back to Macandra housing, but before that we went to the Kruidvat and Blokers to buy daily needs, such as lamp, glass, snack, bucket, hanger, small cupboard, and many others. Then, we went back to housing by walking about 15 minutes from centrum. It’s a nice day for this day, hope tomorrow will be better day.
